Class Size

Maximum of only 12 students in group classes ensures quality time with the teacher. Student-centred lessons mean real progress can be made.

Levels

Courses are taught at all levels from Elementary to Advanced except English at Work, Cambridge Examination & IELTS Courses and Work Experience which are Intermediate and above.

How to Get to Exeter:

Daily Timetable

  • Morning Classes 0930 to 1300 (including 30 minute break)
  • Afternoon Classes 1400 to 1530 Monday-Thursday Or 1400-1715 Monday-Friday for students taking the 15/30 hour IELTS course

General English

A choice of hours:

  • 21 hours mornings & afternoons
  • 15 hours mornings only.

Morning classes cover all skills - speaking and pronunciation, listening, reading & writing, vocabulary and grammar. Afternoon classes focus on communication and comprehension. Weekly tutorial with the class teacher.

IELTS Preparation

A choice of hours :

  • 15 hour programme. 15 hours of IELTS preparation in the afternoons
  • 21 hour programme. 15 hours (mornings) of General English & 6 hours (afternoons) of IELTS preparation.
  • 30 hour programme. 15 hours (mornings) of General English & 15 hours (afternoons) of IELTS preparation.Top

Cambridge First Certificate & Cambridge Advanced

12 week programmes of specific examination preparation starting in March and September.

Business World

21 hours per week. 6 hours of individual lessons and 15 hours in group classes. Course Content: A combination of Group classes in the mornings with the focus on covering all skills: speaking and pronunciation, listening, reading & writing, vocabulary and grammar and individual classes in the afternoons which concentrate on the language related to the professional areas of interest of the student.

English at Work

  • 21 hours course - 15 hours in General English and 6 hours English at Work
  • General English: covers all skills - speaking and pronunciation, listening, reading & writing, vocabulary and grammar.
  • English at Work: all practical skills needed to work in English such as office administration, meetings, presentations, emails, faxes, business letters etc.

Work Experience Programmes

A minimum 15 week programme with 3 weeks General English Course and 12 weeks of paid Work Experience in the hospitality industry up to a maximum of one year. To gain a certificate, students must complete an assessment questionnaire for the standard level and an assessment portfolio for the advanced level. The certificate is internationally recognised and of particular value when students apply for employment. Open to students with an intermediate or higher level in English. Unpaid work internships can also be arranged in a variety of other industries.
