11.1 General English
A choice of hours:
- 30 hours per week mornings and afternoons
- 21 hour per week mornings and afternoons
- 15 hour per week mornings or afternoons only
Morning classes: The 15 hours programme covers all skills - speaking and pronunciation, listening, reading & writing, vocabulary and grammar. Afternoon classes: The 21 hours programme includes an added focus on communication and comprehension. Fortnightly tutorial with the class teacher.
11.2 IELTS Preparation Courses
- IELTS Preparation 15 hour programme: 15 hours of IELTS preparation in the afternoons.
- IELTS Preparation 21 hour programme: 15 hours (mornings) of General English Study + 6 hours (afternoons) of IELTS preparation.

11.3 Cambridge Exams
- 12 week course x 15 hours per week starting in March and September

11.4 One-to-one Courses
Individual, tailor-made tuition where students can concentrate on areas of specific interest.
11.5 Business World
21 hours per week.15 hours in group classes in the morning followed by 6 hours of individual lessons in the afternoon. Students can concentrate on the language related to their own professional/personal areas of interest in the individual lessons.
11.6 Study & Work
SKOLA offers a fantastic range of Study and Work programmes in the UK. All students have the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification through the “Workskills Plus” programme followed by a paid work placement in the hotel industry. Students from the European Union also have the option of following one of our English language programmes followed by a paid work placement either in the hotel industry or a London restaurant. Whichever option you choose you have a great opportunity to spend time in the UK, perfect your English as well as cover some of your costs in a paid work placement.
Workskills Plus
This course is open to all students
Workskills Plus is a worldwide recognised qualification and will train students in all areas of work. It is an ideal qualification for young people with little or no experience of work, giving them the skills they need to succeed. On completion of the classroom based study period students have the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned in a paid work placement where they will also have the fantastic opportunity to perfect their English. The course comprises 50% classroom based study followed by 50% paid work experience in the hospitality industry.

11.7 University Pathway
Skola’s University Pathway course offers students two routes to University in the UK:
- Students who achieve IELTS 6.5 at the end of the course will be able to apply to the university of their choice.
The school will provide a comprehensive placement service and assist in all stages of the application. - Students who achieve IELTS 5.5 will be able to choose from one of our partner International Colleges where they will study the first year of the degree programme. The International Colleges are for international students only and are associates of the university. The college and the university provide a single education continuum from enrolment to graduation. The colleges offer university designed modules, instruction from university level lecturers as well as additional support. Students will then join the University for years 2 and 3 of the undergraduate programme. The degree is issued by the University in question. Our International College partners are: LIBT Brunel (London), ICWS Swansea, PDIC Plymouth and CRIC Anglia Ruskin (Cambridge).
At a Glance
The course comprises 3 terms x 10 weeks:
- Autumn Term: October – December
- Winter Term: January – March
- Spring Term: April – June
Study hours: 25 hours per week
Morning class: Students will study General English Monday – Friday x 3 hours per day.
Afternoon Class: Class will comprise 50% IELTS preparation and 50% Academic study skills (please see below for further information on study skills)
