Register One of our summer holiday courses for 11-17 year old students in London is provided by English Study Tours. This English Language course with excursions and sports is called Young English Studies and is only available in the summer. Students learn English in the morning followed by an afternoon programme of excursions, sports and art. Children and staff from 30 countries form a dynamic learning community. Maximum class size is 16 students.

Young English Studies (Summer)

The Young English Studies course at Gloucester Gate is available in June, July and August for students who want a holiday course in London. Students have a choice of tuition & activities only or a full package including accommodation. All levels are accepted. The 15 hours of English tuition focus on improving students’ core skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening, as well as working on a weekly project related to the excursions the students go on. For 3 afternoons students play sports, do creative arts and play language games. For 2 afternoons students go on the ‘Discover London’ trips and on Saturday they go on the ‘Discover England’ trips. Courses are from 2 to 9 weeks and all course materials, testing on arrival and certificates are included.

Excursions and Trips

Excursions form an integral part of the education programme and the high staff:student ratio on all excursions ensures the safety and well being of students at all times.

Discover London Two half day trips per week – places can include for example: the Science Museum, Covent Garden, British Museum.

Discover England One full day excursion per week Saturday– places can include for example: Cambridge, Brighton, Oxford.

Accommodation

Accommodation is arranged through an accommodation agency. Home stays are carefully selected and regularly inspected. Accommodation is normally provided in shared rooms (students of different nationalities sharing together). Single room accommodation can be made available at extra cost. Home stay providers will assist with students’ laundry. All meals are included. Lunch Monday to Friday is taken at the school and a packed lunch provided on Saturday excursion days. All other meals are taken with the with the home stay provider. Students must be 11 years of age or older and all bookings are for a minimum of 2 weeks.

£50.00 Accommodation Arrangement Fee is charged for each placement.
Students aged 11 – 12 in single room = £295 per week
Students aged 13 – 17 in single room = £225 per week

Airport Transfers

We can arrange airport transfers from all London airports. Prices are per person and one way only. We need confirmation of flight details one week before arrival at the latest. We cover all London Airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, City, Stansted and Luton) to one London Address. Prices: Up to 3 people travelling to or from the same address when students enrol and travel together: arrival: £80 departure: 16+ years old: £80 15 and under: £160

Welfare

24-hour emergency telephone numbers are issued to students and their parents so that a member of staff can be contacted at any time should they encounter any problem or difficulty. Medical support is always available. We maintain very close supervision of students at all times for their safety and well-being and to ensure they derive the maximum benefit from their course.
