English courses Suffolk - Summer

Alexanders College has 40 years of experience in children’s education and is situated on a beautiful 120 acre campus on the Suffolk coast. Surrounded by exceptional beaches, we provide English language tuition supplemented by extensive outdoor activities. Accommodation is provided in shared rooms with 2-4 beds.

English 4 Exams

Students may opt for a course preparing them for a specific examination. The exam levels offered are: KET, FCE, CAE and IELTS. It should be noted that any student opting for any course will be expected to be at a suitable level for the chosen exam.

Per week students study 15 hours of General English in group classes of maximum 15 children plus 6 hours of exam preparation course in classes with a maximum of 8 students. Students study the English required to pass 1 of 4 examinations: the Cambridge exams PET (Preliminary English Test), FCE (First Certificate in English), CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) or the IELTS exam required to enter a British University. Students also join Multi-Activities for 3 hours each week.

English and Combined Arts (Music, Art, Dance, Drama)

In our English and Combined Arts Course the students will choose their option from the combined arts, working alongside their teacher and other students they will prepare for a performance, exhibition or show at the end of the week to showcase their talents to an audience.

English and Country Sports (Watersports, Horse-riding, Golf)

In our English and Country Sports Course the students will choose their option to learn, improve upon and master either sailing, horse-riding or their golf handicap. Horse-riding and golf takes place off site. Horse-riding at an Equestrian Centre located in 200 acres of woodland and paddocks. Golf coaching takes place at a local 18 hole course PGA tour course. Our onsite watersport centre caters for all abilities in sailing and kayaking where students can sail inland along the river Deben or more adventurous students can sail into the North Sea.

English and Sports (Tennis, Football, Multi-Activities)

In our English and Sports Course students will choose from tennis, football or multi-activities. With our professional coaches at hand each student will learn and improve upon their sporting abilities. At the end of the week there will be a tournament for each sport.
