Processing Personal Data

SKOLA English in London respects your data according to the Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2003 and GDPR. We secure against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of personal data. We do this by controlling how you send us your data, and who has access to the data once we have it.

We only collect your data using secure forms on this website. We transfer your data to our school database to produce invoices and our weekly lists of students. We do this in order to run the programmes we advertise. We may disclose personal data we collect to third parties. If you choose a service like homestay accommodation, our minibus service, or airport transfers, we will share the data the services providers require to deliver the service. 

 

We use cookies to track a visitor’s route through our website. This enables us to garner statistical information for future development. Visitors can disable cookies with no loss of functionality from the web browser. Visitors can also browse the website anonymously. SKOLA does not collect information to identify individual website visitors.

We will ask for certain data you have supplied earlier to identify you. Customers can amend their data where it is inaccurate or asked for it to be erased. We aim to do this within 30 days. SKOLA will give customers a copy of the personal data we have collected. We keep data for 5 years.

We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications); payment details (including credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile.

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases, and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 

Direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and Stripe used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

 

 

How do we communicate with site visitors?


We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes, we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and WhatsApp or WeChat messenger services.
