Learning a new language can feel overwhelming, but at SKOLA English in London, we believe clear communication is built on simple, repeatable, fun, and exciting steps. Following an extensive review of teaching techniques, SKOLA has developed a secret to student success that we are now thrilled to share: the four-step E.C.H.O. Method.
This intuitive process helps students confidently acquire and integrate new English sounds and speaking patterns, transforming practice into effortless conversation.
Here is how the E.C.H.O. Method works:
E: Ear The process begins with active listening. Students listen to the teacher to develop a sharp ear—the essential foundation for recognizing and understanding natural English pronunciation.
C: Copy After listening comes repetition. Students copy the teacher by repeating sounds aided by a visual representation. This stage focuses on vocal imitation and the physical practice of new sounds.
H: Habit True acquisition requires consistency. We encourage students to make it a habit by choosing to practice until it’s easy. This regular reinforcement is what builds the muscle memory necessary for fluency.
O: Own it The final, rewarding stage is when a student can confidently own it and speak it themselves! By this point, the pronunciation is fully integrated, allowing for natural and effortless conversation.
The effective E.C.H.O. framework ensures that every student at SKOLA develops clear, confident English speaking skills. With over 50 years of experience teaching children in London, we are proud to be a Centre of Excellence that guides learners from their first listen to speaking with total confidence.
The E.C.H.O. Method is a fast track to English fluency!
