SKOLA Regents Park Summer 2026: New Adventures, New Confidence, Phone-Free.

ree

Dear Parents,

I am happy to invite your family to the SKOLA Regent’s Park English Summer School 2026. This is the time for your child to learn English and discover other cultures.

The school is open from 15th June to 29th August 2026. We have three groups for different ages:

  • Discoverers (7–9 year olds)

  • Explorers (10–12 year olds)

  • Leaders (13–17 year olds)

You can choose any Monday to start. This gives you flexibility for your summer plans.

Learning English at SKOLA

Our programme includes 15 hours of English class each week. We do projects based on weekly themes that help students with reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Classes are organised by age and level. We always want students to practise English with people from different countries. Last year, we had a limit on the number of students from each country per week. For 2026, we are making this better: we will now set that limit within each age group. This means your child will always have lots of opportunities to speak English with new international friends.

Placement Tests

Before your child arrives, they must complete an online placement test. This helps us put them in the right class. Most students do a short one-to-one speaking test with a SKOLA teacher. For 2026, there is a new option: if a student cannot do the live test, they can take an AI speaking test made by Cambridge. This makes sure every student starts in the correct group on the first day. On Friday afternoons, students give presentations where they share a poster, a talk, or a short video. It's a great moment when they feel confident and proud.

Outside the Classroom

Learning continues with sports, music, art, and our trips called Discover London visits.

  • Students on the full-day course go on two half-day trips each week

  • Students on the six-day option also have a Saturday trip.

London becomes like an extra classroom. Students use real English while seeing famous places. A hot lunch is provided for full-day courses, and we can prepare food for different diets.

What’s New for 2026

Discoverers (7–9)

New for 2026:

  • Sports are now on Monday afternoons.

  • We have Forestry Skills (outdoor learning) on Tuesday afternoons.

The school base changes for these weeks:

  • 15 June – 4 July and 17 – 29 August: at Regent’s Park

  • 5 July – 16 August: at SKOLA Gloucester Gate

Explorers (10–12)

They have 15 hours of English lessons plus three hours of London Explorers course each week. These are activities that build research and teamwork skills. We have changed the activities on Monday and Wednesday afternoons based on feedback from parents and students.

Leaders (13–17)

Teens learn to be more independent through three hours of London Leaders course each week. This includes planning and presenting. We have also changed the Monday and Wednesday afternoon programme to be more interesting and challenging for them.

Important Policy Change: Phone Ban

At the end of last summer, we tried a rule to ban mobile phones during the school day. Students gave in their phones each morning and got them back in the evening.

The result was great: students focused more in class, talked to each other more during breaks, and were more interested in the trips. Because it worked so well, this rule will start from the beginning of Summer 2026. We believe this helps students get the best experience while still calling their families each evening.

For our Leaders (13-17), we offer a residential option. Students stay in a safe London building with staff watching over them. They gain independence while still having full support. In the evenings, they make new international friends, practise English, and do activities in a safe place.

Booking Your Child’s Place

Parents tell us they see their children learn quickly and become more confident. They start asking questions, giving presentations, and chatting a lot. The good combination of teaching, projects, and London trips makes the difference.

I encourage you to book your child's place soon. Places are taken quickly, especially for the Discoverers, so booking early is the best way to get the weeks that are right for your family. You can book on our website: www.skola.co.uk/register

Warm regards,

Connor Middleton

Principal, SKOLA English in London
